Strategy reports its second-quarter results on Thursday, July 30, after the US close, with a webinar the same evening — and, like Coinbase, one day after the Federal Reserve's decision. The market expects a hold at 3.50%–3.75%, and Bitcoin trades near $64,000 after a soft run into the meeting. For Strategy the macro is not background noise: under fair-value accounting, the print's headline number is largely a function of where Bitcoin ended the quarter.
The mark
Strategy held 843,775 BTC at its most recent disclosure, and fair-value accounting reprices that entire stack through the income statement every quarter. That makes the reported earnings line the least informative number in the release: it tells you where Bitcoin's price stood on one calendar day, applied to a stack the company has no intention of selling into weakness. A large reported loss would say the quarter ended below where it began; a large reported gain would say the reverse. Neither says anything about whether the machine underneath is working.
The machine
The tells that matter sit below the headline. Purchase cadence: whether the company kept adding through the drawdown, and on what funding. Bitcoin per share: whether the stack keeps growing faster than the share count. And the runway: at its framework's launch, Strategy's stated liquidity — a $3.225 billion USD reserve plus authorized Bitcoin sales — covered about 25.9 months of preferred obligations, the figure our latest Strategy read treated as the balance sheet's real tell. Dated previews frame Thursday the same way: IG's July preview centers on the recovery of the equity premium and a slowing Bitcoin yield, not on the earnings line.
The rate backdrop
A Fed content to sit on the plateau keeps the endurance clock ticking: the longer the drawdown runs, the more the coverage runway — not the mark — is the number to watch. A hawkish surprise would press Bitcoin and tighten every one of those tells at once; a dovish turn would do the reverse and likely restart the premium that funds the machine cheaply. Strategy remains an execution story graded in months of runway, not quarters of earnings, and our horizons on the company's dashboard already price both the endurance risk and the recovery path. Thursday adjusts the evidence, not the frame. This is market analysis, not a recommendation to buy or sell any security.
