Privacy

This is a static website with no account system, no comment system, no fingerprinting and no session replay. It uses the third-party analytics and chart services described below; one of them, Google Analytics, sets cookies.

Session notice.A short-lived marker records that the opening notice has already been shown, so it appears once per browsing session rather than in every tab or on every page. It is stored in a session cookie holding only the value "1", with a copy in your browser's session storage. It contains nothing about you, identifies nothing, and disappears when you close the browser.

Analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics).Pages load Cloudflare's Web Analytics beacon to measure aggregate traffic: page views, referrers, and load performance. It is cookieless: it sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and does not track you across sites or build individual profiles. Measurement is based on the page visit itself, not on you. Analytics (Google Analytics). Pages also load Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js, measurement ID G-FD807GKS5B), operated by Google. Unlike the Cloudflare beacon, it sets cookies and uses identifiers to measure traffic and engagement: pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, and device and browser information. It loads when you visit a page. Google processes this data as described in Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Analytics (Ahrefs Web Analytics). Pages load the Ahrefs Web Analytics tracker to measure aggregate usage, including page views, referrers, device and browser categories, approximate location, language, outbound-link clicks and form submissions. Ahrefs states that this service uses no cookies or persistent identifiers. Raw IP addresses are discarded rather than stored; a salted daily hash is used to count daily unique visitors. Beyond the analytics described above, no personal data is collected: there is no account system, no comment system and — at present, no newsletter collection. When the newsletter launches, this notice will be updated first, naming the data controller and processor.
